Meet Celina

Portland Metro Birth and Postpartum Doula

Celina’s Approach to Doula Work

Celina believes in birth as a transformative rite of passage. One that deserves access to the care team and community you need in order to have the birth and postpartum experience you want. She feels a profound calling to stand as a pillar of support during this time of courage, resilience, and vulnerability. As a birth and postpartum doula, her goal is to provide continuous compassionate care and informational support in order to listen and guide you in making informed, empowered decisions. Her support is rooted in developing a relationship with you from the moment you meet, curating her support to meet your specific needs as things unfold. She is focused on your physical and emotional needs and wellness from pregnancy to postpartum, your community, and your dignity and respect. She believes that the power of feeling in control of your body helps create a safe, loving, and memorable birth and postpartum experience. This drives her to help you become your own best advocate so that your needs are met and your voices are heard, and to ensure everyone on your birth team is supportive and united around your needs.

Celina’s approach is thoughtful, intuitive and holistic, with an emphasis on advocating for your needs. She enjoys helping birthing people and their families develop a birth and postpartum plan that feels true to who they are, and looks for opportunities to create an environment that feels calm, comforting, safe, and full of joy. Throughout your pregnancy and labor, she combines pain management techniques, massage, breathing techniques, labor positioning, and emotional support. During your time together, she will guide you in exploring your birth preferences while also holding space for your feelings and exploring what the unknown elements of birth might look like. Her postpartum support provides you continuity of care that extends beyond birth with each visit designed to leave you feeling rested and nourished. These visits allow time to help integrate you and your baby into “new normal”, and provide comfort and postpartum recovery. She'll cook for you, offer newborn care, provide educational and community resources, and actively listen.

Childbirth is a unique experience for everyone. Celina aims to be a grounding presence, a sense of calmness and encouragement, and a trusted member of your care team. This story belongs to you and she would be honored to celebrate and support you in navigating this incredible chapter in your lives.

Celina’s Background

Celina was born in Central California where her family makes olive oil. She moved to Portland in 2015 to pursue an MFA in Collaborative Design where she studied third spaces and fostering community through interdisciplinary learning and sharing. She has a constant need to be creating and doing things with her hands, whether it’s working in her garden, making pasta from scratch, working on an embroidery or painting project, quilting, or building a coop for her ducks. She is inspired by rituals, nature, travel, our quest for personal growth and freedom, and how we create personal meaning and a sense of belonging to the greater whole. Celina’s self-care includes candlelit baths, trail rides on horseback, a juicy book, dancing to records, and camping with her husband and their dog.
