“Katie wants her clients to feel supported, respected, and confident during their pregnancy, labor and postpartum experiences.  She considers it an honor to be a part of her client’s birth team while they embark on this new journey.”

Katie’s Approach to Doula Work

The birth of a child is a moment every parent will remember for the rest of their lives.  As a doula, Katie’s goal is to provide non-judgmental, individualized support that is specific to each person’s preferences during their birth.  Katie wants her clients to feel supported, respected, and confident during their pregnancy, labor and postpartum experiences.  Katie is committed to listening to and helping families advocate for themselves to reach a satisfying birth experience.  She considers it an honor to be a part of her client’s birth team while they embark on this new journey.

Katie has a deep commitment to family, helping others, and giving back to her community. Becoming a birthing and postpartum doula was the perfect combination of her passions to help new families in their first few days, weeks, and months, along with her love of providing a nurturing, safe, and trusting environment for families navigating their new journey in parenthood.

Katie’s Background

Having been inspired with birth work since her first medical terminology class in high school, followed by witnessing and providing emotional support for a close friend during labor, and later providing postpartum care to another friend after bringing their new baby home, Katie knew this was the perfect time to pursue her passion and become a doula. Katie began her doula path by completing her DONA birth doula training, Katie then decided to further her doula career and education and participated in Doula Love’s 6-month internship program.

Katie is a mother of two young adults, two teenagers, three dogs and a cat.  Having had a variety of birthing experiences, Katie has found a great respect for those giving birth and acknowledges that each birthing experience is different and beautiful for everyone.  There is not one “right” way to give birth. When Katie is not working with families you will find her camping with her family, working in her garden, playing with her pets, trying out a new fitness class, being creative in her craft room, or working on a new DIY project at home.
